What if I told you your mental health journey can be culturally & spiritually Inclusive? For many people choosing the right therapist is about being aligned with a provider on multiple levels. It’s possible to work with a therapist whom you can relate to culturally, racially, and spiritually. A place where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. As a Christian, you’re mindful of living a Godly-intentional life as best as you can and that includes your therapy journey. If you need to have a therapist with whom you share the same worldview, then faith-based counseling is for you. Here are 3 benefits of Christian Counseling.

Benefit 1: God’s Way

Christian counseling is focused on a higher authority and your Christian faith.

Benefit 2: Knowing Yourself and Whose You Are

A human being has approximately 60,000 thoughts per day and 90% of these are repetitive according to Dr. Fred Luskin of Stanford University. Other experts estimate 30,000 to 40,000 of those thoughts are negative. All that mental noise clouds our judgment, reduces our motivation, disrupts discipline, and interrupts our belief in who we are in Jesus Christ. Faith-based counseling allows you to grow internally and externally. You will grow in your capacity to understand yourself and your struggles using biblical tools and evidence-based tools. You will acknowledge your God-given strengths and use your strengths to work through life challenges that lie ahead.

Benefit 3: Live Purposefully

Christian counseling will allow you to promote your mental health and your spiritual health. This does not mean life without hardship; this means during difficult times you can use practical and spiritual tools learned in therapy to help you during hardship. This means finding rest in God as you engage in actionable steps to navigate whatever challenges you are experiencing. Being a mentally and emotionally well Christian can allow you to live a purposeful and prosperous life.
